KYRRA RICHARDS has worked as a professional dancer with Nickelodeon, Spike TV, Fox, BET, MGM, the Hollywood Bowl, Coca Cola, Ford, Lexus, Target, Big Lots!, Thermasilk, Doritos, Motorola, Microsoft, Rockport, Bank of America, LA Philharmonic, Paris By Night, Kids’ Choice Awards, Guys’ Choice Awards, Jessica Biel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Carrie Ann Inaba, Tracy Morgan, the Jonas Brothers, ZZ Top, Carmen Electra, Max Greenfield, Beau Bridges, Scott Bakula, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Michael Rooney, Keith Young, Joseph Kahn, infamous Broadway legend Donna McKechnie, director Richard Jay-Alexander, and photographer David LaChappelle in music videos, commercials, premieres, stage productions, print campaigns, and concerts.

 

Kyrra took her first dance class at the age of two and was showcased at the age of 11 on the popular talent show Ed McMahon’s Star Search.  She grew up dancing competitively, winning scholarships, national championships, and titles.  Her passion for dance brought her to southern California as a UCLA Bruin.  She honed her creativity in the World Arts and Cultures department, focusing her dance studies on Arts Education.  As captain of the UCLA Dance Team and Spirit Squad, Richards performed regularly at the Rose Bowl, Pauley Pavilion, and Staples Center.

 

Richards was selected to represent the United States as a cultural arts ambassador, promoting the benefits of arts education throughout China and Japan. She toured Morocco and France, performing for the United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris. After two USO tours performing for troops in Afghanistan, Richards developed an arts and recreation program for former war refugee children in New York City with the International Rescue Committee. Inspired by the healing ability of the arts, Richards also created a dance program at the Westside Children’s Center and Camp to Belong for foster children.

 

Richards has trained and mentored young dancers for 25 years. She has taught and developed arts curriculum for New York’s Broadway Dance Center, Fox Studios Child Development Center, Los Angeles Accelerated School, the Archer School for Girls, the Windward School, the Buckley School, Brentwood School, Roosevelt Elementary, John Thomas Dye, Bright Beginnings, Wonder Years Preschool, Malibu Methodist, Malibu Performing Arts Center, and Musical Theater LA. Kyrra has directed several elite dance studios, winning national championships and choreography awards. She judges international dance competitions and continues to share her love of art with children around the world, encouraging young performers to dance from the heart.
